Lola Rennt
I thought that it was a little odd in the beginning because the phone call was confusing. I didn't understand at first so it was hard to follow along. A little ways into the movie, things started to clear up. I had a rough first impression of the movie but it improved throughout the film. At first the movie seemed old and I did not think it was going to be good. For example, their clothes and some of the props are outdated. Later in the movie I realized it didn't matter because it still had the same effect on people no matter how old it was. The repeating scenes were pretty cool because it had different outcomes on some of the people that she ran into. For example, the woman with the stroller either won the lottery or lost the child. All of the outcomes were cool to watch because just a few little things changed in each scene but it made a huge difference. It changes the effect because it shows that little details matter. Also, it makes the viewer pay better attention to the movie. For example, the first time through I didn't know that there was even a person on the stairwell but the second time through I saw when he tripped Lola because I knew what to look for. I think that the makers of the film were trying to tell people that you can't anticipate things and little details matter. In the last time through, Herr Meyer didn't hit the car because Lola lay on top of it instead of jumping over. Another example of details mattering would be how the dad treats Lola. The first time he kicks her out and the second time he is rude so she robs the bank. I would definitely recommend this film to a friend. It was entertaining and kept me guessing.
