The Euro was first introduced in 2002. At the time the original exchange rate for $1=1 Euro. The current exchange rate is $1.30=1 Euro. Seventeen countries use the Euro. In total their are 8 euro coins, the smallest value being the 1 centimes. The centime divisions are 1,2,5,10,20,and 50. The bills also increase size with the denomination increases. The countries that use the Euro are called the Euro Zone.
