The Euro is the currency of most European countries with the exceptions of Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Denmark, Sweden and the UK. Those countries who do not use the Euro, still have their own independent economies. The Euro was first introduced in 1995, but was not introduced into circulation until 2002. It is an attempt to further unify and strengthen the concept of the European Union as a whole. This is the largest social reform for the European Union in recent times. It greatly assists the EMU (Economic and Monetary Union.
